Muhammad Rizwan Mughal

Muhammad Rizwan Mughal received his Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2014. He served as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Space Technology, Pakistan, from 2014 to 2021, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Staff Scientist at Aalto University, Finland, from 2018 to 2020. Since 2023, he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, where he leads the Space Engineering Lab. His research interests include spacecraft engineering, small satellites, embedded systems, IoT, and spaceborne AI. He is an IEEE member and serves as an Academic Editor for the International Journal of Aerospace Engineering. He has also reviewed papers for journals including Acta Astronautica and IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems.
